Reports – Income Viewer

This feature is only available if you have the Tax Return Submission add-on active on your account, or a package which includes this.

What is the HMRC Account Viewer?

The HMRC Account Viewer allows you to see income records that HMRC holds about you. This includes details of employment income and tax deducted at source that employers have reported to HMRC throughout the tax year.

This information is automatically retrieved from HMRC and displayed within Pulse, helping you keep track of other income that may need to be included on your Self Assessment tax return.

You can access this report within Pulse by navigating to
Reports > Tax Return > Income Viewer

What does it show?

The HMRC Account Viewer displays income records grouped by financial year, including:

  • Income Source / Employer – The name of the employer or income source
  • Income Amount – The gross income received
  • Tax Deducted – Any tax that was deducted at source (PAYE)
  • Date Recorded – When the information was captured from HMRC

Each financial year shows a total of all income and tax deducted for that period.

If you’re not currently connected, you’ll see a message letting you know. If you believe you should be connected or need assistance, please contact our support team.

Why might there be no data showing?

If your HMRC connection is active but no income records are displayed, don’t worry – this is normal.

HMRC typically receive information from employers by the end of May following the end of the financial year. For example, income records for the 2024/25 tax year (April 2024 to March 2025) may not appear until May or June 2025.

When your tax return is prepared, any available HMRC income data will be reviewed and included on your tax return if applicable.

How do I get the Tax Return Submission add-on?

If you’d like to add the Tax Return Submission service to your package, you can do so from the Current Packages and Add-ons page in your portal, or contact our team for assistance.
