Resolving login issues

Occasionally, users may have issues logging into websites – this happens on a range of sites and below is some guidance on how to resolve the issue.

Correct username/password

An obvious one but important – ensure that the username and password you’re using are correct. Did you use a free email service such as Google, Yahoo or Live? Check that the details are correct.

You can request a password reset. Some free providers may treat the email as spam, so do check the mailbox for this – and some also block the URL (Link) to reset the password, so you may need to copy / paste

Check your Cookies are enabled

Nearly every website which needs you to login will rely on Cookies. If you don’t have them enabled, you won’t be able to login to most websites.

Ensure you have JavaScript enabled

Again, like most websites, you’ll need to have JavaScript enabled on your browser. This helps your browser calculate and process more complex queries which are needed for interactions with our website.

Try clearing your cache and cookies

Sometimes your browser’s cookies and cache need a clean-up. Check the instructions for your browser on how to clear the specific cookies relating to the website.

Disable any addons/extensions

Adblockers, privacy extensions etc can cause conflicts with websites as they’re trying to load something and being blocked. In addition, these extensions can accidently block the wrong thing.

Update your browser

We only recommend the use of the latest Google Chrome browser. You can check if you’re running the latest version here – WhatIsMyBrowser
